SPN/NCIS xover, sequel to Volatile Compounds. help_haiti fic for baileytc that takes place early in season 5. Her prompt was for case related gen and she was ok with another NCIS xover. The rest is not her fault. Warning: If you have a higher level of discomfort reading about babies being eaten by monsters off screen, beware. They dealt with it a little in the show in season 4, but not to this extent. Additional warning: bonus shark jumping!

Gibbs warned Sam and Dean not to use their NCIS badges again unless they checked with him first. They didn’t realize that in Gibbs-speak it meant he would be contracting work out to them whenever something came along that couldn’t be killed with government-issued firepower.

14,500 words, PG-13.

“You guys are going to find yourselves missing the days when it was just people ganking other people,” Dean said.

Okay, those really loud dolphin noises you heard in the distance were me when I went to my friends list and noticed that you were posting a story.

I love NCIS crossovers with SPN. You really have everyone's voices down perfectly. I love the demon and the history behind it...and especially liked the fact that there was a chance to save the moms.

And the whole Gibbs reveal was brilliant. I didn't see that coming at all. Although I was saddened that Dean was so angry about it, but his anger does make sense.

The line about his heart was brilliant.

So basically loved this. Hope there will be more in this universe somewhere down the line!

So much to love. Dean's ring tone assignments. Hee!

Pretty much... so much love for Dean especially, here. I apparently have a thing for this Dean, he breaks my heart and makes me want to hug him and feed him cookies and tell him to rest and take a nap, it's okay. He's cranky and pushing everyone away and is resistent to any connections outside his established ones and does't trust easily and especially doesn't trust angels and ... you did great at being true to Dean's headspace in S5 without wallowing in the angst.

Plus, angry forceful Dean is HOT.

And then this passage:

Couldn’t humans be that good, once?” he shouted. “Just once!”

He turned and headed for the stairs.

Gibbs caught up, reached out, caught the collar of his jacket. Dean spun and jerked out of his grip, looking ready to fight.

“Hey!” Gibbs shouted, short and sharp.

Dean paused, the tone and volume more of a shock than the contact. He nearly stood at attention.

“You’re that good,” Gibbs said softly, but with steel. “You are. Understood?”

Sucker punch, dude. Right in the middle of revealing one surprise and then you sneak this one in so unexpectedly.

Is it wrong of me to enjoy the Gibbs/Dean dynamic being so distrustful and kinda angry and resistant on Dean's side as much as I do? I think I have extra love for it because I like seeing someone not just easily kowtow to Gibbs. Trust and respect are things that have to be earned with Dean these days especially, and Gibbs just got another big black mark against him, with his fallen angel status. I'd love to see another installment of this crossover down the road, just to see more of how this shakes out and how everyone else is responding to the crazy that they've been introduced to and .... oh, I wonder how they'd react to meeting Cas? That could be fun.

OH, also -- I almost forgot to say I loved that bit where Sam's listening in on poor McGee needing a pee break and being given a hard time over it and thinking that Dean might not be the worst (or best) at razzing their family just for the hell of it. That was so cute!

And the bit where Sam *felt* something was wrong, and Dean's heart is already taken.... oh yeah. Duh, right? :)

While I've still yet to see a single ep of NCIS, I enjoyed this one just as much as the last one. I love Take!Charge!Dean, and it was great to see him planning and strategising! Loved the twist at the end too!

The way Castiel looked at him told Dean he understood, and more. No one and nothing looked at him like Castiel did.

He was, hands down, the only angel worth trusting.

Gibbs an angel fallen from grace. Castiel the only *good* one. And the demon, luffed it, and...just....

I adore this 'verse. I hope, very quietly, for more. Someday.

I don't know how I missed commenting on this when you posted it--just re-found it via a rec and I love this story. Love the Gibbs backstory, and I love Gibbs telling Dean is is that good. And that Castiel figured it out. The Dean Angel team! This is one of my favorite crossover verses ever!
