3500 words of ‘Open Doors’ fic by request - an unofficial ‘what if’ that occurs immediately after chapter 2 of ‘Woven’, where the Unlocker Of Doors tries to feed on Dean. Read that first or this’ll make no sense. Birthday tale for Hope. <3

Date: 2007-11-19 06:13 pm (UTC)Oh, yes, you definitely can include No Scratch For The Dealer on your page. I would be delighted. :)

Date: 2007-11-19 10:58 am (UTC)This is lovely, barb, and perfectly in keeping with the story as it is. REally, really slow and sweet and warm and just a little bitter.
(Although you've got a "two" in there when I think you mean "too"...

Date: 2007-11-19 03:17 pm (UTC)Heh. I noticed that as well, but then I amused myself by imagining it was a play on words-- the boys not quite separate = "just shy of TWO"-- and reveled in how even Barb's typos have subtle hidden meaning. \o/

Absolutely gorgeous imagery. I was right there with Sam, every moment.

Date: 2007-11-20 03:29 am (UTC)Okay, but I want Jensen to teach the courses, wearing those little wire rim glasses and something in tweed. GUH. How the hell do glasses make that boy even hotter? It boggles.

Date: 2007-11-20 03:36 am (UTC)It never occurred to him that Dean had been holding it out to him since the day he’d been born.
"next time"... heh. Freud would be proud, Sam. You don't want to go too far, take too much, violate the trust and individuality of Dean... but you're already thinking of next time.
He wondered for an instant what it would be like to have full body contact, nothing but skin to skin and permission to swallow him whole.
It raised the hair on the back of his neck. He had done the right thing in getting out when he had.
Ummm. Yeah, exactly. Like I said. Freud.
It was a relief that Dean didn’t seem to know what the hell had really gone on, but it was also a disappointment he couldn’t show. There was no way Dean would have been able to hide a reaction of some sort if he had any conscious recall of what had just happened.
...
Dean grabbed the laptop and booted it, turning his back to Sam as he sat on the bed furthest from the door. Sam figured he'd had enough time to think about what they'd run into earlier that morning, and he’d work it out somehow.
It's interesting that you combined the surface reaction of Dean per Sam's interpretation of his behavior with the blocking of the scene. Considering how much the show using scene blocking to give us tells about the boys' emotions, especially Dean, this is fascinating (and perhaps a little more layered than even Sam is comprehending, considering his own baggage issues).
Kudos.
