SPN/NCIS crossover. The boys finally flash the wrong counterfeit badge while investigating murders on a Naval base.

Gen, PG-13, ~18,000 words. Humor, angst, drama, violence, cursing and crack. Like usual.

“Something went whole hog in here,” Dean said. “The can of whoopass must have been the ten-gallon Costco size.”

Epilogue

Two months later

-|-

Tony kept sketching the scene, waiting for Gibbs to come back with coffee. He was still thinking Pit Bull or Rottie for the dead Marine’s wounds, but it made no sense for a dog that was angry enough to tear a guy’s throat out to just stop there. There should have been defense wounds on his hands and arms. The vic was also lying out in the open in Meridian Hill Park like he’d been tossed there, and the last he knew, dogs didn’t kill at one location and then dump the corpse elsewhere. Not the uneaten portion, anyway.

“Galloway!”

DiNozzo heard the moniker long before he saw who was hurtling toward him, and he turned with a decidedly hopeful look on his face that he tried unsuccessfully to hide.

Dean Winchester came within inches of him, looking wide-eyed excited and almost…happy.

“Well,” DiNozzo said. “You’re still alive, huh?”

“You always this observant?” Dean said.

“When I’m awake,” DiNozzo said. “Where’s Sam?”

“Nearby,” Dean said. “Where’s super-special secret agent Leroy Jethro Bodine Tull?”

“Shut your mouth, or I’ll put you back in a room with him,” Tony said. “Plenty of charges we can still help you catch up on.”

“Does the Navy still hang people from yardarms?” Dean said.

Tony laughed. Another movie quote. “Depends on what you mean by ‘yardarm’.”

“Kinky.”

“You’re under arrest, fugitive,” Tony said.

Dean snorted. “Fuck you. We’re working the same case, and me and Sam were here first.”

“Twice on Sunday,” Tony shot back. “I got a badge that says case is mine. What’ve you got?”

Seven badges, and jurisdiction, douchebag,” Dean said. “This guy died by vampire.”

Get out,” Tony said with an exasperated groan. “C’mon, bullshit.”

“Better have Ducky look,” Dean said smugly. “He’ll tell you what’s what. And then I am all over this, and you better just go back to your knitting lessons, gramma.”

“There’s no such thing as - ”

Tony paused as a hand came in contact with the back of his head.

“You better have something I can use,” Gibbs said to Dean.

“Your killer’s got fangs,” Dean said. “Hard to ignore that. You go ahead and have every test thrown at that guy, and the DNA on his neck is gonna be buckets ‘o crazy. Abby’ll tell you.”

“I’ll wait until Abby gets it.” Gibbs said. “You got any other reason to be standing around where I can bust your dumb ass?”

Dean stared at him for a long moment, long enough to be a challenge, before he backed away. “Nice to see you,” he said, tossing a mock salute.

Gibbs watched Dean walk away with an odd look on his face, then moved his eyes to Tony.

“Vampires,” Tony said in a terrible Bela Lugosi impression.

“Again?” Gibbs said.

Tony stared at him in amazement. “Boss?”

Gibbs shrugged. “Gets funnier every time I hear it.”

Went to read the epilogue and google has flagged your site as having malicious third party code on it.

I loved the main story and looking forward to reading the epilogue when you get the site cleared up.

I am an oscillating pinpoint of glee over this story. Gibbs knows the angels! Gibbs has a 3D Devil's Trap! Oh, and so many other things.

However.

I cannot read the Epilogue as apparently your site is still an "attack site" in spots. Please help?

I came home from work so looking forrward to downloading this story--and there was a malware warning! Do you have it in a doc to email please?

I really hate creepy hackers (as opposed to the fun fictional adventure kind, which I kinda like.)

ETA: Downloaded! Will read--tomorrow :( falling down sleepy.

Heeeeeee! Love the epilogue!

Fantastic characterisation for both fandoms and a wonderfully believable reason for the fandoms to be colliding.

I'll be linking this story on [livejournal.com profile] spn_vs_cops_fic in the next few days. This is exactly the sort of story that fits that comm.

OMG YAYE

Brilliant! Brilliant! Of course Gibbs recruits them! Jurisdiction by cause of death rather than location! Ziva and the Sam-straddle! Gibbs' observations about SamandDean! Ducky wants to believe! Dean thinks Abby is hot! The stapler!

But the best...the best of the best of the best=THE FUCKING BOAT IS A DEVIL'S TRAP!!! OMG! The beauty of this is indescribable!

There are not enough exclamation marks for this story!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You would not even believe the high pitched dolphin noises I have been making while reading this.

Yes.

It's definite.

I love you and your amazing, amazing brain.

There are going to be more of these, right?

You had me at "spn/ncis"

[identity profile] seadreamer.livejournal.com 2009-07-08 02:36 pm (UTC)(link)
See, I've always adored your work. Seriously. I read, and reread and love it more every time.

But THIS:

“Like you said, not many things that can pull this off,” Gibbs said. “Last time I saw anything like this, it was an afrit.”

Look! Over here! This is me, down on one knee with a big-ass diamond, begging you to marry me so I can have your babies. Because that could not BE any more perfect. You'd never think Gibbs would buy into something like that, until he does. And then it's, "Well, of COURSE he does. He's not stupid, and he knows not to discount the bat-shit crazy that goes on out there." And then there's the angel knowledge.

*offers diamonds again*

Just.... consider it, OK? *grins*

Honestly, I always have high hopes when I see a crossover of these two worlds, and I'm almost always disppointed. But the interactions between your characters is so believable that I could honestly see it being an episode. Just... awesome. Please, please, please write moar!!

[identity profile] irismay42.livejournal.com 2009-07-09 09:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Epilogue was great too! I especially liked the last line... Gibbs and Dean are maybe more alike than they realise!

[identity profile] blackcat333-99.livejournal.com 2009-07-10 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
**GLEE**

You know, your SPN crossovers are just totally awesome. I always enjoying getting an outsider POV on the Winchesters, and the NCIS crew is a good fit for being able to pull that off without taking the focus too far away from the boys. Also, this:

Castiel kept staring at it as if it was some sort of puzzle. “What Dean told you is true.”

“I know,” Gibbs said. “Kid couldn’t lie decently to save his soul.”

Was that the beginning of a smirk on the angels’ face?

First time for everything, Gibbs thought.

“You will likely cross paths again,” Castiel said.

Well. If you were to ever feel like revisiting this little x-over, I think I wouldn't hate it. At all. Be an interesting exercise to see the changes in the boys, and what's stayed the same, and what simply gets uncovered with a deeper look/opportunity for observation.

Mostly, I just love your fic and want more. *is NOT greedy -- I deny it*

[identity profile] camille-is-here.livejournal.com 2009-07-11 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Finally got a chance to read it and I just have one thing to say--

SQQUUUUUUUUUUUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

All of the interactions seemed like I could see them on the tv--more on NCIS, actually, though the Supernatural characters were true to their SPN selves as well.

But it felt more hopeful than SPN, in the best way. I found myself wishing Sam and Dean could stay in that universe, where Gibbs, who would never have let Dean go to Hell, would sweep them up into his personal protective circle. Dean would flirt with Ziva but get seriously interested in Abby, which Sam would totally get, while laughing at his brother for liking girls with brains and Sam and McGee would mock Tony and Dean for their popular culture competitive chest thumping.

I'd really like to see more of this universe!

Oh this is BRILLIANT!

I'm so bouncy from reading it. SO much love for the character interactions and Ziva and Sam and oh man, Gibb's 3D Devil's Trap and seriously, fantastic.
